The Świętokrzyskie Voivodship is one the tiniest in Poland. It doesn’t mean it’s boring though, quite on the contrary! Here, pristine and unspoiled nature creates a unique fusion with the beauty of human works, and legends are sometimes true.. Witches, dinosaurs, mysteries, the Chęciny Castle… Are you brave enough? Will you dare?
The Chęciny Castle was built at the turn of the 13th and 14th century. It is beyond all doubt one of the most popular and most sought-after attractions that the Świętokrzyskie Voivodship has to offer. Located on a hill, a stone’s throw away from the national road no. 7, the fortress is surrounded by many other attractions of the region, such as for instance the Paradise Cave or the Kielce Countryside Museum - Ethnographic Park in Tokarnia. Together, they belong to the so-called Chęciny Tourist Cluster (Chęciński Klaster Turystyczny).
The Kadzielnia Nature Reserve – a strict reserve of inanimate nature located in the city of Kielce, in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodship. It includes the Skałka Geologów (Geologists’ Rock), a remnant of the top of the Kadzielnia Mountain (295 m a.s.l.) in the Kadzielnia Range, extending in the southern and western part of Kielce.
The Palace of Cracow Bishops – a baroque palace in the city of Kielce, former residence of the bishops of Cracow. The best preserved original early baroque palace residence from the 1st half of the 17th century in Poland. Since 1971, it has housed the National Museum. In 2005, the so-called Italian Garden was opened at the back of the palace.
The Paradise Cave (in Polish: Jaskinia Raj), located near Chęciny in the Świetokrzyskie Mountains, is one of the major attractions of this mountain range and at the same time one of the most beautiful solution caves in Poland. Its nature-formed corridors are approximately 360 million years old. The total length of the chambers and corridors is 240 metres. Regardless of the season, the temperature inside amounts to 8-10 °C, and the humidity level is 95%,
The facility houses miniatures of the most famous buildings in the world as well as a rich palette of wonders created by nature, a 6D cinema, a rope park and, last but not least, an amusement park. In winter, there are two platter lifts and a modern magic carpet lift for stress-free skiing lessons.
This countryside museum is located on the main road and houses numerous wooden buildings. Apart from cottages, you’ll find there also a church, a manor house, a windmill, a granary and a smithy. Both the cottages and other facilities have been equipped with original exhibits, and thus, by visiting them, you can travel back in time to the 19th century and see the living conditions of our ancestors.
